Tree Swallow 

 

Tachycineta bicolor 

Physical description: 

They have a blue/black shiny top coat, with a white underbelly. They are relatively small, measuring about 5 inches long. They have small pointed black beaks. Their tails are forked. They are often flying or gliding in meadows, and have a distinct swallow-like, or boomerang-like, shape. 

Habitat: 

Meadows, or any open areas near woods. 

Voice: 

A twittering whistle.
