Starling 

 

Sturnus vulgaris 

Physical description: 

Short stocky black bird measuring 8 inches long. Glossy iridescent black plumage, with white and light brown flecks across the entire body in the summer. They can have black or yellow beaks. Unique triangular shaped wings in flight. 

Habitat:

Found in urban and suburban areas. Will often perch high in trees, like large pines. 

Voice: 

high pitched squeaks and whistles.
