Red Pine

 

Pinus resinosa

 

Red Pines are tall measuring up to 80 feet. The diameter at the base of their trunk can range from 1 to 3 feet. Their bark  is a reddish brown to grey. It is broad flat and scaly plates. Their cones are 1-2 inches long and are egg shaped. Red pines prefer sandy or well-drained soils.

 

Leaves:

Evergreen needles that measure 4-6 inches. There are two in a bundle. They are dark green.
