Eastern Towhee
Pipilo erythrophthalmus
Physical Description:
This bird is 8.5 inches long. It has a deep belly. Its tail is long and has rounded ends. The beak is short and black. Eyes are a dark red or black. Males have a black head and black. Red brown under their wings. They have a white breast. Females follow a similar pattern, but with lighter colors; light brown top rather than black.
Habitat:
Field edges, forests, and gardens.
Voice:
Call has been described as “drink your teeeeeeeeea”. Also has a high buzzy call.
