Eastern Phoebe 

 

Sayornis phoebe 

Physical description:

 Short bodied, fat headed, with a finely pointed black beak. Both male and females have a grey-brown head and back, with brown and white streaked back wings and tail. Their undersides are white, sometimes flecked with brown. Will often actively bob tail downward. They are approximately 7 inches in length. 

Habitat: 

Shrubs and trees near fresh water. 

Voice:

2 noted whistle followed by a buzz.
