Canada Goose

 

Branta canadensis

Physical description:

Canada geese can range from 27-45 inches in length. They have a large bill that can be greater than 50% length of the side of the head. Both males and females have a black head and neck albeit their white “cheeks”. They have a greyish-brown colored body. Underneath their tails is white; and females generally have a tail lower to the ground. 

Habitat:

Lakes, marshes, bays, parks

Voice:

Medium pitched honk or high squeaky honk in times of distress.
