American Mountain Ash

Sorbus americana

Typically seen as a large shrub in Westford with many stems branching from the base. The manner in which this species grows may look similar to staghorn sumac, but the flowers are white rather than red, and the leaves have less sharp looking teeth.

Leaves: Leaf stems are deep red and 6-9 inches long. Individual leaves on compound stem are 1.5-4 inches long with pointed tip and rounded toothing
